Alpheus White

Alpheus White (M.Ed. ’53, Ed.D. ’59 Admin & Supv) turned 90 in January. “During those years, among other activities, I served 2 years in the Army in WWII, 2 years in the Infantry during the Korean War, earned a master’s and doctorate in education from the University of Virginia, and was employed by the U.S Office of Education when President Eisenhower was in office and retired from the U.S. Department of Education when President Reagan was in office. Since retirement in 1982, I have engaged in livestock and Christmas tree farming. For the past 10 years I have been involved with our family winery in Warren County, Virginia: Glen Manor Vineyards.”
