Christy Vaught (B.S.Ed. ’14 Speech Path & Aud) is currently a second year graduate student at Radford University, expecting to earn her M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders this May. While at Radford, Christy served as graduate student coordinator for Project Sprout. Project Sprout is a nonprofit organization aimed at serving families experiencing homelessness or poverty in the New River Valley. As coordinator, Christy was responsible for training potential advocates, contacting referred families, and planning and attending family visits. She found this experience was very rewarding and eye opening. In the fall, Christy will be completing her pediatric practicum at a rural school in southwest Virginia. She hopes to work in the medical setting after graduation, but still enjoys working with children.
Christy Vaught's Curry Memory
“Bringing the undergraduate and graduate COSD students together and serving as an undergraduate NSSLHA representative. Any conversation with Dr. Loncke is also a fond memory. His passion for his students still resides with me today!”
