Charles Igel

Charles Igel (Ph.D. ’10 Resch Stats & Eval) will present his most recent paper, “Engaging and Empowering the Professional Community through the Revitalization of Teacher Research,” at the 2017 annual meeting of the AACTE in Tampa, Fla. “To be effective practitioners, teachers must have a degree of agency over their own practice and the ability to actively contribute to the knowledge base of their field. Micro-research is a revitalization of teacher research designed to facilitate ongoing reflection and continual improvement of practice through systematic teacher research. Dr. Igel’s presentation reviews the first academic paper on micro-research, introducing the broader methodology and its context within previous academic work.”
