Sharon Barr Spalding

Sharon Barr Spalding (M.Ed. ’83 Health & PE) teaches physical and health education at Mary Baldwin University. “I have returned to full time faculty after 9 years as a split appointment with Athletics. I also coordinate our Exercise Leadership Minor and will be teaching a new course in the fall – Exercise for Special Populations. I teach Beat Cancer Boot Camp twice a week. It is a strengthening program for all cancer survivors. Finally, I work 5 hours a week at Augusta Health Fitness training clients in their Cancer Rx program. I am a three time breast cancer survivor.”

“The lab in Mem Gym and my assistantship assisting UVA Cardiac Rehab at the Boar’s Head Inn. I think I have come full circle starting with Cardiac Rehab when it was new and now working with cancer survivors as they become fit.”
