Michelle Devereaux

Michelle Devereaux (Ph.D. ’10 English Ed) is an assistant professor of English and English education at Kennesaw State University. Her first book, Teaching About Dialect Variations and Language in the Secondary English Classroom: Power, Prestige and Prejudice (Routledge, 2014) received the 2016 Richard A. Meade Award for Research in English Education from the Conference on English Education of the National Council for Teachers of English.  The Award was established in 1988 in honor of the late Richard Meade, professor in the Curry School of Education, for his contributions to research in the teaching of composition and in teacher preparation.
