Curry Class Note

Lisa Cooney

Lisa Cooney (M.Ed. ’88 AV C&I) “This is my first time submitting news to the Curry School. My news is that, 28 years after graduating, I am still working as an instructional systems designer. This amazes me because I left the field for 17 years to raise kids, but such is the demand, at least here in the DC area, that it was easy to return. My U.Va. education held up to the test of time; technology has changed but people are still people. Through developing a course on it, I learned Agile and am now using Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and Agile daily in my ISD work for a Federal agency. It works wonders!”

Lisa Cooney's Curry Memory

“Working in the Audio-Visual lab, developing photos in the darkroom, preparing posters for the faculty, creating videos, and working with this newfangled Apple computer. Thank you, John Bunch and Shirl Shiffman, for teaching me so much that has endured to this day.”
