MAJ Timothy Mitroka

MAJ Timothy Mitroka (M.Ed. ’13 Kines) put his kinesiology and fitness skills to the test when he competed on the TV show American Ninja Warrior. “This was back in May and definitely was a challenge. But I did find myself applying a lot of what I learned at U.Va. to be as efficient as possible through each obstacle. I did pretty well for a rookie; made the top 30 on the first obstacle course run, and then came in 17th place overall after the second, and more grueling, course run at the Pittsburgh venue for the show. My daughters egged me on to apply last year, and I couldn’t believe I got a call back to be a competitor. I actually got a little air time on TV from my first run.” bleacherreport.com/articles/2510409-american-ninja-warrior-2015-results-recap-from-june-29-episode
